With the provisional order from American Airlines for 100 B737 MAX 8 Boeing started to market the re-engined B737NG. Southwest Airlines was the first airline to place a firm order in December 2011.
And here we will track how NEO and MAX attract orders.
Order intake after launch:
At the end of 2012 Boeing reached their target for 1,000 firm orders. Airbus has more than 1,700 firm orders at Dec. 31st, 2012 and John Leahy expects to reach 2,000 at the 2013 Paris Air Show.
